Looks like the collapse of XPF.

Just tried to log onto forum and things seem pretty ropey. Pages not loading, etc.

Does anyone know what the outcome of lastnights poll on it's future was?

Thought that would be the case.

Must just be transition probs from one owner to other.

Noticed that Rob and Tony have stepped down too. Shame.

I didn't have a problem with Steve taking over but seems there is some real bad blood between him and a few XPF stallwarts. Will have to see how things go over then next month or so.

Personally I think it was geared to go that way for a while now.
The options int he vote given to the members were either:
1) A result Jerry & Max would be happy to accept / what they wanted to do anyway, or
2) Something the members wouldnt vote for anyway i.e. Close It Down

I also believe that calling the Steve Childs option "UKWebsystems" (yes I know its his company) rather than saying "This Is The Steve Childs Option" was rather sneaky and underhand.

I dont have a problem with Steve or .org, I beleive that they do all they can to keep The Cause alive however if these forums were telephone companies then this "buy out" would not have been allowed to take place.

Bad blood all round also.

all members are welcome of course from both sites but i voted on that poll to close. It was nothing personal against steve childs ive never met him but my feelings were xpf needed it own identity and inevitably at some stage conflict between the two sites one semi subscription the other free would occur although i wish the new owners well . i too would have liked to see it kept alive with its members i hope this will be the case . i will say id guess jerry and max have made a lot of sacrifices over the years to keep that site and make it what it was so its there decision to do with it as they see fit and i have great respect for them both and wish them a happy future .

Never really liked any other forum for ZRs...XPF are a bit purist and snooty for my liking from my experience...!!!

Like being in the common as muck theMGZR forum...;-)

p.s. Thats a compliment BTW!!!
Yeah it was a shame that the ZR forum did have a few of the Older purists thier, who bought the ZR for it's wide opening doors and decent sized boot for the zimmers and tartan rugs.

It does however have quite a forward thinking ZS forum. Which this site doesn't. Can't blame it really as it is a ZR forum.

But, as you do, I like to feel common. Gets to know one peasants on the estate. What-hoe?

Agree Jib.

It's funny that those who don't want the forum to change have already made inroads by thier attitude to their fellow forum members.

Steve offered me a Mods post but I turned it down. Don't know what I'd be doing and thier are much better suited Mods still there. Just a shame that actions by bothe parties prior to the sale have caused such hassle. If only there had been more open discussion about what was going to happen.

It also cant be denied that there are (for want of a better term) Cults Of Personality surrounding both Steve and Jerry.

The "blending" of the two very major major forums in The MG-R Cause, I hesitiate to use the word "Merging" may be likened to the dropping of the iron curtain. With time old prejudices may be put aside as new members arrive and the old opinions are diluted with new fresh ones.

I seem to recall similar reactionary behaviour and dummy-spitting exactly a year ago when this forum changed hands.
