Anyone know where I can get a carbon fibre bonnet for the mk1. Is there even one being produced? Thanks.

Wouldnt mind getting the bonnet, Spoiler (Banshee) and bootlid, but i take it the bootlid wont be the flushed one.

And what Hollyoaks said about the roof - oh yes.

One long carbon fibre strip right through the car.

fukk it, il give them a call tomorrow - would look right at home on my black stealth Mk2.

was going to get the carbon fibre insert anyways.

Now if they could get it to me for the 16th of July im sure id be the only ZR in Scotland at the Fast and Modified show with one.

The mk1 and mk2 bonnets are the same right??

Wish I could afford one but thats me spent ÂŁ1000+ in two days:eek: Think I'm gonna need a lie down:blink: :wall:
Felt the same mate.

After it i thought, did i really just spend over a grand?? the when it came to 2 grand i passed out.

All the carbon bits i want are 1000, but im mesuring it up against these facts.

1) my bonnet and bootlid need resprayed.
2) was looking to badboy the bonnet
3) come full respray time, there will be less to respray.
4) will look trick as fcuk.

if they do the roof then im sold, will be buying the bonnet/roof/spoiler/bootlid.

think it will look lush with the deep kandy red paint im going for.

Has anyone looked into getting a laminate fitted instead of the full bonnet/boot/roof?

I don't mean the cheapo sticky backed plastic, but an actual layer of CF overlaid onto the existing steel. This has gotta be cheaper than a full bonnet as it's only a single layer panel, and a full bonnet would require several layers built up and a substructure of some type. Or are these CF bonnets just a skin?

Before anyone starts with a negative 'that defeats the purpose' rant, most of those who want carbon aren't too bothered about the 50kg saving, but the aesthetics of the carbon.

I would imagine at they prices they are the real deal.

If they could get it looking genuine then I would maybe have a skin, but I wouldn't want it looking fake or tacky:eek:

i just spoke to the guy and just enquired about getting a carbon fiber bonnet the same as mine but they can only do the standed bonnet.

unless they take a mold of my bonnet which is going to cost ÂŁ1000 so thats a little bit pricey.

But tempting he said for me to send some pics over of the bonnet as there might be another way of doing it cheaper

will need to find out if the boot is the MK2 style or the MK1, hopefully theyl see people would prefer the MK2 as theyd be upgrading to both a flush boot and a carbon fibre boot.

Goes of searching for a spare grand..........
