i used to use them in my pug all the time....just keep an eye on the wiring...its generally ok bt ive seen a few melt together

and as farr as the old bill go...i never got pulled for thm once!! and tbh i doubt the old bill even know the regulated wattage for a stock bulb n e wys!!

Haven't heard of melting wires and headlamp reflectors on MG/Rover cars, however heard a few horror stories on other models,

i personally use a hid kit for dipped beam and my front fogs, and 80w mainbeam ( as hids arent the best for flashing people)

H11 or h1, not meaning to be biast but hid for the win, unless its your full beam that you use to flash people.

And people who have had problems with hid kits have just bought cheap sh*t.

Hid if factory fitted....

Aftermarket kits are complete crap imo.(No matter what you spend)

got some 80w bulbs for head lights, liking how they are, getting some for my fogs and some new bulbs for high beams, so their all white and not white/yellow
now ive got a sexual mk2 , but im sure my fogs came off a mk1, so id need H1's wouldnt i?
