Philiips Xtreme Power H7 Headlight Bulbs (+80%)

Having got out of work the other night to notice a headlight out and the poor vision I had going down the country lanes in pitch black with just one standard orangey color headlight I decided to try these new Phillips Bulbs before going full on with HIDS after reading the problems some people have had.

I purchased these from ebay for just over 20 which I think is a pretty good price when comparing with full HIDS. They came next day and fitted them in about 10 mins despite hands being frozen and the drivers side light being a ****ter to get your hands into the small gap and fiddle around with the wire catch to keep the bulb in place.

Anyway having now used them for a few days I am very happy with the purchase. I do doubt their claims of +80% brightness but they do give off a nice bright and clear icey white light and illuminate the road ahead well. I am going to get some bluey side lights as well which will hopefully look pretty good for 25 or so in total.

Have taken some pics but unfortunately not got any before pics to compare. If anyone has standard bulb pics feel free to post so people can make a comparison. I also apologise for the filth bucket that my car is which doesnt help the pics as the lights are covered in muddy water!

Overall a pretty decent purchase imo if you don't want to go for HIDS and are happy with a simple bulb upgrade.

Look good for standard Bulbs mate, though for the 15 more that HID's cost id have bought them, loads brighter and better light.

Personally I wouldnt want to rely on cheap hids from Hong Kong. Prestige cars HIDS cost hundreds of pounds and these just seem too cheap to be reliable. Id rather spend 20 on these from a reliable well known manufacturer like Phillips as they do the job and are better than standard.

Plenty of members have these HID's and have lasted for years and years, so questioning there reliability is unfounded since you cant prove it, though the choice is yours really, I just know id prefer HID's, as they look better and give out better light.

Most HID's are made by the same few factories, so in all likely hood the cheaper ones have been made in the same place as the expensive ones.
