The 'Other' Twilight ZS

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to locate the other twilight ZS.

I know it was used at a development car for Sport and Racing (it has a bonnet vent fitted by them) and I know a guy called Ralph used to own it who used to be one of the owners of Executive Motoring Services. He then sold it and it has apparently changed hand a couple of times since then.

I think I know the reg and a check on the DVLA site says the vehicle details cannot be found. I could have the wrong reg of course.

If anyone knows where it could be I would really like to get in touch with the owner (if it is still on the road).

Many Thanks in advance and if you have any info I would appreciate a PM

Cheers
John

'vehicle details cannot be found usually indicates that either the registration number has been changed or that the vehicle has been scrapped. I would think the addition of a cherished number would be quite likely for this particular car.

I imagine the number you have is the one it was wearing when sold a couple of years ago - there are still clear pics showing it on the for sale threads on the forums it was offered on.

The seller at the time was a member on here (staccato) and might be able to help point you in the general direction it went at the time. You could try sending him a PM via this site (although he hasn't been on here for a couple of years, he may well still get an email notification): theMGZR.co.uk :: MG ZR forum - staccato. He also posted on several other forums under the same user name.

I recall that when he bought it, there was some debate as to whether it was actually an MGR or S&R development car at all - nobody who had been involved at Longbridge that he made contact with knew anything about it, and pointed out that monogram cars weren't used as test/development cars due to the cost of some of the paints, and the cost of them being specially painted away from the automated paint shops.

Hope you find it - it would be a shame for it to have been lost.

I am going to send him a PM tonight and hope that he gets an email notification.

Ralph who owned the car before has said the car was used by the actual factory staff as a car they tinkered with. Not Janspeed, PTP or even S&R... There seems to be quite a bit of history with the car. Be great to speak to anyone that knows anything about it.
