Boot won't shut

Hi guys,

Stressing my tits off now because my boot just won't shut! I'll start calmly trying to shut it, and it doesn't, which means i end up givin' it some and slamming it shut.... where it just doesn't shut.

Has anybody else had this problem? Any info is welcomed!

Thanks

Had a look if the boot cable has snapped maybe, not letting the latch catch

either the latch is shut over and try pressing the button again, or the striker plate may have loosened and shifted, in which cas undo the 2 10mm bolts and pull it up slightly and retry

If you push a pen into the locking mechanism, it should close around it and stay closed until you press the button. If it doesn't, there's a problem with either the lock, the cable or the lock barrel.

If it does, it's an alignment problem

Thread revival...

The locking mechanism works just fine - Clicks in place and holds until the release is pressed. I think i've spotted the problem - The boot isn't actually going down far enough for the latch and mount to lock together. I can't see why it isn't going down far enough...

Yep, i took it off to make sure it wasn't causing this problem and it still wouldn't shut. If you push on it hard, you can see it's trying to go down into the lock, but it's just being blocked by something.
