Heavy steering and clonking

Hey guys, just got an 03 zr td for my runabout.

The steering feels very heavy, is this normal for these cars, there is definately power steering but it still feels heavy, but it doesn't feel as heavy as a car with no pas. The car has the 17" upgrade wheels, would this cause the problem?

I was thinking of lowering it before I bought it, but it's very stiff as standard( are there any spring kits that won't break my back?

When reversing with lock, then putting the gear into first and turning the wheel the opposite direction, the car would have a loud clonk noise come from something suspension or even possibly drive shaft area. Would this b a common problem, or would anyone know what this is?

Cheers, karl
