i need some advice (title edit)

right here is the thing, i am planning doing my modual 1 test in the next couple of weeks and then i will be looking to get a bigger bike. Now i have been on the road for about 18 months on a 50 then a went onto a 125, so that is my biking experiance. I was looking to get a 400 but then i was told (by an old man biker) to get a 600 because 400 are to slow making them dagerous. So what do i do? get a 600 or a 400 bearing in mind i am only 17.

Was thinking of a suzuki bandit 600, yamaha fazer 600, yamaha ttr600, basically bike along these lines if these are a good idea.

other bike recomendations would be good but im in to touring so i cant be bothered with sports bike after the uncomforable-ness of my old rs50's.

Thanks Euan

best thing you can do is go out and have a sit on a few different bikes that match your criteria. For what its worth, i think anyone who says a 400 is dangerously slow is talking out their arse and i would happily suggest a vfr400 unless you're paticularly tall?

Have you been riding for 2 years though? As you need to be 21 or had been riding for 2+ years before you can go above 33bhp.

wount say he is talking out his arse because he was been on bikes for 40 years or some thing but it is all powerfull bike he has had. atm he has a busa for the road, kawasaki track bike and an ex-brittish superbike. Im 6'2" tall so i find sports bike uncomferable and hurts my shoulders like mad. but thanks for the advise though mate.

aye it is 2 years after the modual 1 test unless you are 21. but then saying that the insurace companys dont need to know it is de ristricted.
