My Astra 888 No:007
I thought it was about time I started thread about my Astra mk5 888 007/100
I love the build number.
The 888 comes standard with a few upgrades.
888 alcon 325mm 4pot brakes
EDS Stage 1 map making use of the sport button, so 160 off sport and 200ish on sport ( Ive got a print out of 203.3 )
I have owned her for nearly 6 months and so far loved every min of it.
She was more or less standard when I got her.
Previous owner had fitted a set of alcon 2 piece discs and Uprated front pads and he also has a new clutch fitted.
Like all my cars before I then make plans of what I want and how I want her to look and drive and this one was no different.
In the 6months I have owned her I have made changes and I think so far shes coming along nicely.
One of the first thing I did was order some j hooked rear discs to match the front ones and some red stuff pads and painted the rear calipers red to match the front ones.
I had her on the ramps as I was wax oiling her underneath so she was all protected and looking her best and saw the exhaust was showing signs of getting ready to be changed. So I set about looking for a replacement. I came across a scorpion systems local and for good money and couldn't say now.
I am impressed with the quality of the exhaust and it went straight on no questions asked.
One of the jobs I wanted to do the min I viewed the car was to get the wheels refurbed. They were looking tired and the paint was flaking and could do with a refresh.
I booked her in at the wheel specialist, the same people who I have used before and they did a good job.
I had them done into a anthracite colour which is darker than original colour but I think the colour works well. I have got some new triple eight wording for the rim edge and some new 888 logo's for the centre cap stickers, just waiting for the weather to pick up.
I also fitted 4 new tyres as they were kinda getting ready so thought new tyres to go with the newly refurbed wheels would be spot on.
I thought a little colour was needed in the engine bay, alittle to black for my liking. So a quick look on Roose motorsport and a few hundred quid later and I ordered some blue hoses and once fitted I was well impressed. The quality was spot and the engine bay looked great. The colour works well with the engine cover and build number sticker.
I then started getting into machining and I machined the T8 as she was ready and had never been done before and she came up a treat and I am looking forward to the summer and her shining.
I am going to start trying loads of different products and see what I like and don't like etc.
The next plans were to get her booked into the bodyshop to have the whole front end painted and stone chip free and also have the back number painted as there are a few marks on that. I was all set to book her in at the the bodyshop when a set of Recaro treadline 888 seats came up on ebay, not cheap but looked amazing.
A 2 hour drive later and money changed hands they were mine.
I got them fitted and boy do they look great and the extra support they give it amazing. money well spent.
I am off to the bodyshop this weekend to get a quote for the work I want and get her booked in for the beginning of march.
The plans for the rest of the year are to get the dash smd into blue, gloss black centre colour and other plastics.
I also want a whiteline rear anti role bar and some spax / fk adjustable coilovers. I am also going to fit some new top mounts and wishbones and ball joints and track rod ends and some uprated anti role bar drop links. They all the suspension is all new and spot on. Might also fit some uprated wishbone bushes but will see when Im ready to start ordering parts.
As for the power front, I am going to fit a fmic, a hybrid turbo and run a stage 3 custom map, she should make good power and wicked torque.
Anyway, that took some typing out. I think its time for some pictures. The pictures will go from how she was when I got her right up to date.
This is how she was when I got her home
Rear discs changed.
Time for some Roose Motorsport hoses
Some domed number plates, had these on most of my cars and I really like them.
Wheels refurbed and some full shot pics.
I then machined her and she came up a treat.
Then came the recaro seats and I love them to bits.

Yeah shes a diesel.
Been to see the bodyshop man and had a chat etc etc and shes booked in for March 9th to have Front bumper, bonnet and front grill, rear bumper. I am also having him take the carbon wrap off the boot strip as it was done by the previous owner and is bugging me. So thats getting painted black too.
Ive got 2 new 888 badges to go on already so all good.
