That's one of the reasons I went for a later model, should be ok do it when it gets re-maped.

You can disable it, by just pulling the vacuum pipe off and plugging the pipe then the valve can't open. May try it, just to see what happens.

my burds dads not long got one of these, S reg petrol 5 door though still going good though, main problem on the freelanders is the transmissions, if your running odd tyres front to back or if they have more than 2mm difference in tread depth it keeps winding up and can end up siezing the viscios coupling in the prop, then in turn blow up the transfer box, if the viscous coupling away id just take the prop off run it as a 2wd(actually drive better as 2wd)
quite enjoying doing it up, so far put light protectors front n back, new sterio, full new set of tyres, new rear brakes, track rod end, citreon washer jets,
next plans are blacked out windows, full leather interior and roof lights

Yeah, I noticed the problem with the tyres, the dealer put new ones on the back. And the front have about 3.5mm left on them, and its horrid lol Ive got two new tyres arriving tomorrow. Just normal road tyres extactly the same as the back (as the 17"s will be the summer wheels), then i'm getting a set of 16"s with oversized (215/70/16 will also give 1" lift) AT tyres for winter and off road use.

Sounds like a good project, i'm thinking of tinting my rear windows.

yeah id get the tyres on ASAP because its a ticking timebomb like that lol. i like them personally, suppose youve noticed the amount of rover bits on it lol, theyre a good compromise, offroader but cheap running because its very car based compared to say a disco or defender which when something breaks its mega bucks for the parts

Won't be driving it for a week, as I'm on call. And the tyres are getting done Wednesday. Its got 12 months warrenty too.

Not many rover parts on mine, as its the facelift with BMW engine. Better seats, dash, brakes etc......some parts are still expensive though. Trying to get a used set of roof rails, and 16" alloys people want daft money.

Got some spare wheels for winter and off road, all painted to. With help from my Bro.

All the wheels are fitted with Goodyear Wrangler Hp with 5mm on 3 tyres, amd 6mm on 2 tyres.

When these tyres have worn out i'll get some AT tyres in a slightly bigger size.
