That's quite tidy tbh, and good for you mate for doing the seats yourself, be good to know how tedious a job it was or was not.

I can tell you now that the seats are a tedious job and I have only finished 2! Then again, I hate sewing! It is hard to find the time to do it, so I now tend to take a cover with me places and do little bits while I am at the girlfriends house etc.

All of the covers are held on with little metal O rings. I don't have a tool to put fresh ones on so it is taking even more time using pliers to pull them apart and put them back on. I will take some pics later to give an idea of what I have been doing with them.

awesome cars these are as original hot hatches go then this is prob at the top along with the mk1 clio williams. i once had the pleasure of going in a 240bhp turbocharged 205 gti and lets just say it was one hell of a car, also been in a gti-6 converted one and that was very lively also

Has been for years tbh on all stuff around 20 years old, Mint MGB's were seeing 15k in early 90's now XR2's, XR3i's 205's even MG Metro prices are going north

Completely agree with you apparently the 1.4XS or the rallye's were the purist handlers, I've never driven either but I have driven both a Clio Williams and a 205 with an Mi16 attached to a 1.6 Gearbox. Both great fun

the 205 XS is epic for handling, I work with used to have one and it was surprisingly shifty in the corners. Much better than what my 1.1 205 was with the GTI suspension.

black_sunrise has a little shameless behaviour in the past
i owned a 205 with the Mi-16 engine in, that was RR'd at 163bhp ish at the fly... went rather well. that had a 1.6 box too, im sure it topped out at about 120mph but in that thing i darnt go any quicker. the panels were starting to peel off

ended up getting rid of it though due to epic unreliability.
