Audi...

Right as some of you may know, I recently bought a new Audi TT.

Again, some may know, I've had a few "niggles" with the car, and with Audi.

Heres my story...

On the 18th of October I bought the TT from Stirling Audi. I noticed a slight crimple in the roof/window seal. Sales Exec, says we will get the car in to get that sorted.

Took the car home, and was to have good look around car, and drive about see if i was happy or take notes of anything I wasnt happy about.

After a couple of weeks and being away offshore, I came home and washed the car. Water had started to run down the drivers window.

I went back to Audi who said, they will book the car in to get the seal replaced.

After replacement of the seal, the mechanics noticed that the roof wasnt actually aligned, and pulled itself to the side during activation. They told me the car would need to go to their Glasgow bodyshop. At this point i also kindly let them know about my sagging seats, which audi don't have a solution for.

Bodyshop had the car for 3 weeks and put almost 300 miles on the clock.
Also on day 3 they told me they had adjusted the roof and adjusted the driver window but this hadn't solved the problem so they would need to investigate.

When I eventually got the car back, the final report was exactly what they told me they had done by day 3. So why did they have the car a further 2 and half weeks, and put all this mileage on the clock?

When swapping cars over, i got taken out to my car. Lovely scratches and a dent on drivers side and down A - pillar ( i think thats what its called).

Car then went back into the bodyshop to get paintwork repaired.

Car returned to me on the 5th of February, and gave the car a wash a couple days later.

And guess what, water running down both driver and passenger window

Back to Audi. Another courtesy car.

This time the doors were adjusted. Apparantly the body shop "forgot" to do this after adjusting the roof and window.

they water tested the car and said "its water tight".

I wash the car yesterday, and use a watering can to rinse the car (the hose was frozen)

and again water comes in the drivers window.

I have sent a letter to the head of stirling audi, and have a meeting on tuesday with the service manager about the car faults and the appauling service and care for my car.

Where do I stand with them legally? Should I be due a replacement car? How many times should allow Audi to attempt to rectify the roof problem.

I'm sick to the back teeth of the hassle with this car. Worst decision of my life, buying that sieve!

xx

Was kinda my joke....

Erm, just a phrase, like a Friday afternoon car. I.e. built by the work experiance lad after he went to the pub at lunch time.

Sounds bad service though, I'd def try get a new one. Is it a common problem?

my dad had similar probs with vauxhall about 10 years ago now. All mechanical faults for about a year with a frontera he bought. He had it back to get sorted each month almost but nothing great really. Eventually they offered to take it off his hands and replace it with a vauxhall omega, they valued it at a fair bit under the book price due to the amount of work that had been done to it (bearing in mind it was all their faults really), he refused the omega, threatened a law suit and received a payout at the value of the car in brand new state. The car wasn't starting by this point so he towed it to another of the same co's branches and traded it in without them knowing anything was wrong with it. I really dont know why they didnt take the car off him when the refunded him the whole purchase cost, maybe they knew it was 100% buggered and they couldnt do anything bit scrap it?

So in the end he got back all the money he had paid for the car in the first place, plus its year old trade in value.

Chances are you could push to get a replacement TT to the value of yours, but they will likely try to shunt down the value and add all these niggles to the list of its depreciation.

thats crap. im going to be telling the manager on tuesday, that i wish to reject the car. he told me on the phone that he wants to get it looked at and fixed. how many times do they need to "look" at the bloody thing?

and i cant trust my car going into their bodyshop. I noticed yesterday that there is scartches down the length of the bonnet. i done a quick t cut jobby but only one completely vanished.

most probably. when i bought the car they thought there was "no chance" i could afford a car in their forecourt and none of them were going to serve me.

i shouldve told them there and then to F off.

Ive always wanted to get myself a TT, now i wish i never.

My dad is coming to the meeting with me on the Tuesday, he is very professional. I on the other hand will rant and rave

xx
