Info on bike license

Im looking into doing my bike test. Want to know where i stand. I can ride as i used to ride MX, so thats not a problem. The problem is being on a ****tly low power bike. I hear about a fast track to a larger bike?? there is no way im getting a bike that is slower than my car haha

Im 19, have no CBT or bike theory etc.. of any sort

Where do i stand with reguards to restrictions of a smaller bike, and how quickly can i get my hands on a proper bike?

ta!

far as i know you wont have to do cbt as you already have you car liscence so you can go for your standard bike liscence but you'l still have to wait 2 years for the bigger cc

Things have changed quite a lot recently regarding licenses and tests etc...

At 19 your best bet is to go for your Direct Access (DAS) which will incrporate a CBT (mandatory for you to complete no matter what). This will lleave you with a 33bhp horsepower restriction or in real terms able to ride something such as an RS125 or CBR250 at best. Because you'l be 21 before you're limit is removed you are required to take a further test if you wish to ride somwthing more powerful upon turning 21.

Hope this helps!

Leigh.
