BMW e46 330Ci vs ZS 180 mk2

Trying to decide what car to go for next and it's between an e46 330ci sport OR a zs 180.

The zs obviously is a fair bit cheaper which means I would have plenty of cash and could mod it quite a lot and would give me a project through uni which might be fun.

I've got a year and a half left at uni and when I leave I will get a new car anyway so this is only for me as a student so I don't care that much about getting the BM to have the brand etc!!

Running costs aren't too important, though the risk of BIG repair bills with a BMW should anything go wrong might be...

Love how the ZS looks, love how the BM looks, prefer how the ZS sounds, the BM is quicker and RWD (yumm) the BM is waay nicer car to be in & lovely interior, but ZS is something I could work on and mod which i really enjoy doing & have lots of spare time at uni to do...

Thoughts??????
