The genuine MG Rover rear dampers for the ZR have been 'no longer available' for some time.

The last people to have any were Best of British Rover, who bought up some ex-factory stock afew years ago, but they sold the last set some time ago.

I am not sure whether there is an aftermarket 'factors part' equivalent; you will have to ask in your local motor parts suppliers, but take care that what they may offer is actually for a ZR, and not for a 25 - aftermarket parts suppliers often seem to assume that everything is the same between the two cars.

Failing that, you may have to keep an eye out for a low mileage used pair from a breakers, or off eBay.

rover 25 rear shocks are 25mm shorter than the MGZR, so would my theory work out,
would adding an extras 25mm of thread turns to the centre rod then build up with MGZR springs would that stiffen the shocks to put on my MGZR as i can buy loads of 25 shocks bu no mgzr
