electrical issues

yesterday my headunit lost all power while i was driving home. now id think it was just a simple problem like a wire coming loose or something, but the clock on the dashboard also stopped working, and this might just be a coincidence, but the 'boot open' warning light came on the dash too.

any ideas? all coincidence or are they related in any way?

wow.. how weird

seems that the fuse for the clock had gone, i think.. but replacing it didnt fix the headunit. somehow a 1p coin had found its way into the headunit after i heard a rattle inside. not sure how the penny didnt short it out completely lol.
