What is the normal size for a tyre on a 17 inch straight?

Yeah the 45 profile are more expensive. I went from 45 to 40 and wouldn't look back

FTL, they have good grip but are very poor for traction.

Contisport Contacts FTW or if you have very deep pockets Michelin Pilot Sports.

Do yourself a favour though don't buy cheap muck otherwise you might as well have bought a Rover 25 for the amount of grip you have
