I tried to order one of these from parts gateway. I asked for a "downpipe with flexi joint and cat" as it's all in one. Got a reply from one saying they can't supply the cat. But it's joined to it, what they gonna do cut it off? lol Am i asking for the right part?

Yes, you then attach it to the rest of the exhaust with a sleeve.

The cats cost £££££, this is why they are sold seperately.

Many modern cars are one piece from start to finish. You then cut and sleeve in the new part as required and that part is called the downpipe.

Is it completely split as the outers go all the time but the important inner is fine.

A new one will stop after the flexi and you fit it in front of the cat with a sleeve or sometimes the replacement part slides over the old stump of exhaust and you attach using an exhaust clamp.

Remember when you order to ask for the associated fittings
