to any one who buys for there zr or and other car on e-bay.
there is a man who goes upder the name of peachy-performance
he mainly sells lexus style lights. he takes your money but does not post your item. many people have lost money to this man. i won a set of lights from him and i wanted to pay via pay pal, but he did not have his pay pal set up like he said he would, so luckly i did not pay him. howevr i did leave positive feedback because i did not want him to give me negative feedback and spoil my 100% positive feedback record,
so just a word of warning.

The place is full of 'em. I bought two harddrives (thinking of making a mp3 keg for my car..) which cost me £140.

Still no sign of them or my cash. grr. and you have me worried as i have just bought my lexus style lights off there. luckily not from peachy but still. My fingers wrists and arms are all X hoping that everything turns up.

I sold my mobile phone 3 times on Ebay and kept getting people who bid a stupid price, wanted me to send them to Nigeria and pay with fake funds! It works boths ways!

I use Ebay and havent had a bad experience yet. One item I bought didnt arrive but the seller sent me another one for free!! I think that you need to be careful when selecting who to buy from. Check the feedback, see what other items they are selling or have sold in the past and make a judgement. If you find a seller you like try and stick with them for similar items. Try always to pay with PayPal as you then have a method of reclaiming your money. Ask for items to be posted Recorded so you can track them and claim insurnace if it goes missing.

I bought and sold loads of stuff on there. I have a feedback rating of 91 and have never not been sent anything I've paid for just the hic-ups with the phone thats all. I go on there quite often, you can bag yourself a bargain!
Just check the sellers rating before you bid and the postage costs, cause sometimes it looks cheap but the postage is more than what you can buy the item for in the shops!

Recorded has tracking and insurance up to £28. So its fine for the smaller items, which is what I sell. Anything worth more and I would also go for a better service.

I have sold over 100 items using recorded and there have been no problems.

EBay

Look at the feedback before bidding, if it's a 0 or low number of feedbacks be wary. If the seems too low it most likely is! Go into the sellers feedback and see what people say about them, also what they sell.

I am looking for a 2003 style rear spoiler for my car, saw one on EBay a few weeks ago but recognised the pic as the one from one of the big MG specialists who have been using ebay to offload some older stuff, put it on watch and mailed the seller asking if what they were selling was as per pic as I recognised it - no response. Had an email a few days later from EBay saying they'd pulled that auction as the seller was doing something or other dodgy, wish they'd told me what though

You are more at risk as a seller than a buyer, I have a friend who sold a mobile phone, had someone from the far east (Thailand I think) wanting it and offering silly money, said 'no way' but they crept in right at the last second and bid, then paid by Paypal using a stolen card, they then 'retracted' the payment therefore paying themselve the money! Paypal being total gits recouped the money (£150 ish) from my friend. So not only was she not paid, she was £150 down.

Someone I worked with (a total little shit who I would have loved to have seen stitched up!) bought a expensive digital camera from the States, far too cheap so should have smelt a rat, but the guy had tons of positive feeback. Had a call from American authorities who had intercepted this guys mail following complaints and what he'd done was buy loads of crap, say spending £1.00 a time as each transaction earns 1 feedback regardless - when he'd built up a good feedback he sold loads of videos, cameras etc (that he never even had) cheap enough to get suckers interested then ran with the money. As his payment was intercepted he got his money back.

Like everything, it it looks too good to be true, it will be

You can report them to the police under fraud ! Police can track their IP etc ! Anyone affected contact E-bay also !!! They have all info on these people hence it being a legal binding agreement !! Most cons sell small stuff to build up their positive feedback and then try and fake sell a large item worth a lot !!!

guys, another word of warning... I have recieved three of these now.. Emails that say they are from ebay saying that you must click the following link in order to update your account details (also done on paypal format too).

the link goes to what looks like an ebay / paypal authentic site.. it asks for you to logon.. (like ebay / paypal would normally) DON NOT LOG ON !! its a fake site that takes your user name and password and then changes details so the person behind this can transfer money into their account from your paypal account, or use your ebay account to buy stuff!!

very clever but also very WRONG !! tut tut !!
