Had some photos taken of my little Z on the full F1 track at Silverstone, last september during TRAX 2004. I am very pleased with the results although they are not shown to thier best here.

We NEED to make a real effort this year. I think there were only about 4 or 5 ZR's withing the 4100 cars on show. The scooby stand had in excess of 200 :blink2:

It would be great if rather than go in as individual forums/clubs that we went in with a show of strength with combined numbers.? what do you think? Andy? :wohow:

If you have never done it before than why not at Silverstone. The full F1 track the same as the pro's use. Will really bring it home to you just how difficult a job these guys have.

I was hitting just over the ton at the end of the str8 and was having to lift into the corner. The F!'s boys are going through there at over double that and not lifitng at all.

Really brings it home to you

Its my old Motorcross helmet from when I used to race in the 80's. Certainly seen better days (and smells too, really must ditch it one day but it has so much sentimental attachments)

They are pretty strict regarding the rules. No loose items in the car or boot (or passengers). Arms and legs must be fully covered and a crash helmet must be worn. If you check out the cars in the background the drivers are all wearing helmets as well.

If you want a stand I would get asking now really, as you will have to book in plenty of time, go to www.traxshows.com and you will get all the details there.

Trax pics

Car looks way too good to take to the track!

Stupid question, but why do they still want lights taping when almost all cars have plastic lenses?

Is that a Metro GTi I see behind you? Thought they'd all rusted away, used to love those things.

Is it difficult to get insurance to go play like that in your roadcar? I've done quite a few track days in my Minis over the years but they are on specialist insurance policies that allow them no problem

It depends if you take insurance out, not too expensive for a complete day, but Nick was only on track for 15 mins, and then make a choice whether it is worth paying £50 for 15 mins cover, or just taking the risk and driving at 90%.

I track day my car, and seeing as there is only 1 on the road it may seem silly, but if you drive with care you can still go fast and not have any issues with coming off.

Sorry to hear that Al. The ones Steve took with my old Olympus on the day came out well, eposecially as he wasnt used to the camera, but obviously these guys had all the gear (just SO damn slow). They reckon they can blow the pictures up to poster size and the clarity is such you can read the tax disc. I got a couple of 12X8 enlargements (meant I got all the 6X4's for free) 1 of which I'll frame for posterity
