Starting and then cutting out again within a few seconds is often an indication that the code that the engine ECU shares with the security system has become corrupted - on July 2003 on cars it is usually memory loss in the Pektron SCU, with may have been brought on by a flat car battery , or the car being jump started.
If it is the code that is lost or corrupted, the engine ECU and SCU can be re-matched using suitable diagnostic equipment.
As i probably have a problem with the memory of my scu, i sent my ecu to disable immobilizer on.
But I still have starting problem I think because there is always a physical link between the ecu and the SCU
Do you think I have to cut this wire? (pin 72 MEMS3)
"***8226; Immobiliser State : Shows the current state of MEMS3 immobilisation. If the value shows OK the ECU has received at least one correct security code since the ignition was switched on otherwise there has been no signal transmitted between the Immobiliser ECU and MEMS3 or the signal did not contain the correct code. If the value shows IMMOBILISED the engine will start and fire once for about 1 second and then stop as the fuel injections are inhibited. If the ignition is switched off for approx. 20 seconds this sequence will repeat. "
That is basically what I meant in my earlier post - if no code is recieved by the engine ecu to disarm the immobilisation, the engine starts, and immediately cuts out.
I am not sure which wire you need to disconnect, but I have read of the need to disconnect one wire connection in conjunction with deleting the immobiliser - JohnDQ may know. If not, I am sure you will find the answer somewhere (if not by searching this forum, then have a search on some of the other Rover related forums.facebook groups).
To be honest, unless you really need to delete the immobiliser function for race/track use, it would have been simpler to get the code that the Pektron SCU and engine ECU share reprogrammed.
Thank you for your time and all you bring us thanks to your experience
I have already sent the code scu to ecu with pscan without problems
My car starts and stalls but if I accelerate it remains start a little more but with a mixture of increasingly poor on the lambda probe and downing to 0.08volt, if I spray gasoline on the air filter, idle is better
So I have 2 options:
-Immobilizer: the ECU have now immobilize off, I can now start without the fobs but I must cut the link between the two because my memory SCU it probably die?
or
-Too much air or not enough fuel (the fuel presure is good,All companents are news)
I have try an other ECU+SCU but the trouble is still here.
I noticed after the start that the ignition advance goes from 5 ° to 30 ° ...
Do you think the VVC is blocked?
