what small power mods can you do to improve performance, for example spark plugs ignition leads hose kits etc, which ones work and which ones dont? i know bigger mods like induction kit and zorst help but are smaller ones worth doing#/?

Spark plugs, HT leads etc will only add an improvement if there was something wrong with them in the first place.

Hose replacement (I am guessing you mean something like Samco coolant hoses) are really only cosmetic although on a very high performance engine like a Judd then they will probably have a higher burst pressure so can handle higher temps/pressures (as long as you couple them with some decent hose clips like Mikalors)

TBH A coolant hose change is a far bigger mod than a simple induction change.

It all depeneds on what your interpretation of small mods is.

A remap of the ECU is a very small (if expensive) mod that is completely invisible (or in the case of a rechip very small ) that can net some quite large improvements as long as it is done correctly.

The other way to improve performace cheaply is to reduce weight. So if you ditch anything that is superficial and unneeded then that will help, so if only you drive the car, then ditch all the other seats. Remove all the interior trim, head units, subs, amps, spare wheels, fog lamps, spoilers.

There are lots of ways of geting performace but the only way to get more power is to get more fuel/air into the engine. This is what Turbo/superchargers do. An Induction kit will improve breathing and a performance exhaust will aid getting rid of the waste to make room for more fuel/air. High lift cams etc will keep the valves open for longer again allowing more fuel/air in. Gas-flowing the head will also help with this as well.

So anything that directly effects this fuel/air/exhaust set up will improve performace noticeably, anythiung that dosent (like plugs/leads/hoses) wont.
