Just got this in an email from them so thought you all might wanna see it :)

'We will convert your 105ps 1.4 engine to a 140ps 1.8 engine without breaking the bank, and we reckon it will get your adrenaline pumping!!

The power increase gives vast improvement to the vehicles torque and ‘bottom end grunt’ making any car which has had this ultimate conversion a real car to contend with.

At the heart of the package are two high lift PTP long duration camshafts. The air entry is improved by fitting a larger 52mm alloy throttle body and by retaining the standard plastic manifold you will vastly increases low-end torque.

The Standard ECU is re-tuned with a genuine MG Rover tune, which is exclusive to PTP this will deliver optimum performance whilst maintaining the correct emission levels for MOT testing

To convert your engine the original cylinder head is inspected & rebuilt and we carry out major work on your cylinder block, replacing the major components with brand new 1.8 K Series genuine parts as listed below:

The K series engine started life as a 1.4, MG Rover grew it to 1.6 and 1.8 versions. The cylinder block and cylinder head are the same in all 3 engines, with the changes made to the internal components such as crankshaft, liners, con rods and pistons.

When the vehicle is delivered to PTP, the engine is removed and stripped by one of our fully qualified technicians. As the K series uses wet liners, we are able to remove them from the block without any boring, and replace them with larger 80mm liners, these are standard to the 1.8. This enables you to retain your original engine number.

The pistons and con rods are replaced with 80mm 1.8 versions, as is the crankshaft, main and big end bearings. The cylinder head is checked for signs of wear, and the camshafts are replaced with new higher lifting longer duration cams which lift and open the inlet and exhaust valves for a longer period allowing more air and fuel mixture into the engine, with quicker exhaust gas exit.

The engine is rebuilt using genuine new OE gaskets, seals, cylinder head bolts, camshaft belt, oil filter, antifreeze and oil. A larger 52mm alloy throttle body is also fitted.

A new engine tune is loaded into the original ECU using specialist equipment used exclusively by PTP, this was developed by MG Rover engineers.

The engine is fitted back into the vehicle and a full road test is carried out by one of our engineers, for any performance and drivability issues before being signed off and handed back to the customer.

Information Regarding The 1.4-1.8 RS140 Performance Engine Conversion

1. Warranty - Full 12 months manufacturing defect warranty on parts and labour
2. Engine Size – From a 1.4cc to 1.8cc
3. Power – 140ps depending on air intake and exhaust systems.
4. Gearbox - The existing standard manual gearbox is perfectly adequate for this upgrade.
5. Servicing – Standard MG Rover servicing schedules
6. Performance exhaust – Not needed for the conversion but will give better power if fitted
7. Performance air intake - Not needed for the conversion but will give better power if fitted
8. Brakes Upgrades – Not needed for the conversion, but would be advisable due to the performance increases that are gained.
9. Exhaust gas emissions for MOT – No problems as genuine MG Rover parts and OE engine tune is used.
10. Air Conditioned vehicles can be fitted with this upgrade
11. We require your vehicle for 5 working days.
12. All new, genuine OE (original equipment) parts used.
