Anyone hav any idea if fifa 2008 (ps3 version) will update the latest transfers or will they not bother coz 2009 is coming out soon? i had a quick look on the net but no luck

I would imagine they prob wont. When i was playing the 360 version the other day it still had the old squads.

I doubt they will TBH, they usually turn off the online feature once a newer version is released.
