Basically had this sent to me in a PM dudes been ripping people off for years mostly to start with on the MG scene.

Hello I used to work for George mcmurdie earlier on in the year. He's still up to his old tricks although a spout of bankruptcy has stopped it from the extant it seemed to be before. He now works from behind a cafe he leases and uses young inexperienced lads to break the cars illegally I believe as there's no waste disposal (I didn't work with the cars, i worked in cafe-one of my customers said you needed a licence and disposal for the oil and fluids) and because the young lads he hires have no qualifications or guidance from him parts are smashed and sent to the customer smashed and they demand refunds. He pays peanuts cash in hand with no regard to the amount of work you do or the hours worked. Hes constantly telling of daily dramas thst are everyone's fault apart from his and every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. He complains of having no money yet can afford finance on at least 2 cars which are 600 each, rent at a grand a month and a 99£ phone bill for his iPhone. I've
no idea where he's getting the money from as the cafe barely takes 20 a day and all his young lads have walked out after punching him cos he didn't pay them and text him for pictures of them in their underwear! He has also begged every member of staff to take out a loan for him to pay back some people he owes money to. Yeah and we'd get money back! Anyway just thought I'd contact a few members with an update of him and let me know if you need to know where he is because I don't know if any of these issues on the thread had been sorted

I recall his shenanigans well - both AndyK and JIB21 off here had T16 conversions done by him I think, and both had subsequent problems (both with their cars and with him!).

I'd noticed his name appear on at least one MG ZR/ZS related facebook group that I look at occassionally, and thought 'Oh dear, here we go again'. As I am not signed up to FB, I couldn't make any comment on there, and sadly, few if any of the FB gangs ever come near a 'proper' forum to hear the warnings.

It is also disappointing that the recent demise of rovertech.net means that a readily accessible sticky thread detailing some of his worst misdemeanors is no longer available to few.

Welcome back to the forum by the way Andy :)

Hi dude hope you are well ?

Aye he been about for years lol can***8217;t see him being that much on the MG front to be honest. Obviously moved into more leqrative market now.

Didn***8217;t realise rovertech had gone that way. I have posted in the ZS site yet whenever I brought it up before I got **** down. But then I***8217;m use to that ha ha.

Good to see you are also still about.

Regards

Andrew.

Yep, still toddling on; still with an MG ZR (well, two now - a Mk2 120 in Goodwood and a Mk1 105 in Typhoon which is gradually being tidied up from the rather rough state it was in when I got it).

Rovertech disappeared only a few weeks ago - the site owner had not been on for a long time, and by all reports had moved on, lost interest in MGR and the forum, but for some obtuse reason would not pass it over to someone else, and in the end I think the registration simply ran out. Very sad, as there was a lot of very valuable information on that forum (particularly with regard to the early 1990s Rovers. It also had the main support forum for pscan, which also contained a lot of valuable info). Very sad.

TBH, there are really only two or three of us that post much on here nowadays - any others tend to come with a problem and then disappear again.
