Ive currently got my rear plate on fitted on sticky back tape

Are there pre drilled holes in the boot lid as i wanna fit my number plate surronds but i dont wanna have to drill holes

guessing u got a MK1, there is no holes , you'll have to do them urself, when u take the plate off it has 2 dimples, i presume thats were you drill the numberplate :D

I got a Mk2 and when i fitted my new number plate with black surround it didnt have any pre cut holes, so i just got a screw driver and used the screws provided with the black surrounds - used man power not drill power lol. Solid as a rock they are!!
I was in a rush at the time like due to the missis moaning : whip:

it depends as the dealer will have fitted plates a lot of the time so some dealers attatch them with screws and some use sticky pads - hence why it differs car to car.
