Hi,

I'm a newbie.

I've just got R25 2.0 td with all the mg zr bits fitted to it.
The lad i got it off said its got a straight through exhaust and a Derv Doctor dump valve fitted to it aswell.

However i would really like to get some more power from it.What would be the best way of going about this.

SDI injectors,
F-M-I-C,
Bigger turbo,
Samco boost hoses,
uprated clutch.
Remap.

anymore info would be great

tar

basically, depends how big your bank balance is,

to achieve 145bhp, you will need sdi injectors, straight through exhaust, a good enclosed air filter with cold air feed, sdi injectors and a remap.... all this will cost in the range of £500-700.

to achieve 175bhp-180bhp, you will need all of the above plus a hybridd turbo and with the torque figures youll be running youll need to upgrade your clutch and gearbox. also there is a guy that everybody will talk about to do with mg-rover derv's a man known as wingy, he specialises in freeflow exhausts and can modify the sdi injectors to give better bhp.....but his services are not cheap. to get a set of sdi injectors modified, you are talking £275 plus you have to supply the injectors....

hybrid turbos range alot in prices, a mk 1 hybrid turbo will cost £300 whereas the mk 2 hybrid will set you back £600ish.

a kelvar clutch £400ish.

like i said, it all depends how big your bank balance is.

im sure people will add more to this....

but im pretty sure youll be really happy at the 145bhp mark, mine is and it gives most cars a run for there money.

yer basically with sdi injetors ure looking at around 145bhp, 240ft/lb and without injectors around 130bhp, with improvements to intake, exhaust with boost raised. And off course a good remap. happy tuning
