A long time ago, a king was looking for an adviser. He gathered the
three wisest men he could find. He
blindfolded each one, led them into a room, and sat them round a table.

Then he said:

"I have placed a hat on each of your heads. You are either wearing a
blue hat or a white hat.The only clue I
shall give is that at least one of you is wearing a blue hat. Thus,
there may be one blue and two whites, there
may be two blues and one white or there may be three blue hats.

"When I take your blindfolds off, you will be able to see the other two
hats but you will not be able to see your
own.

"You have one hour to tell me the colour of your own hat. If you give
the correct answer, you will be my adviser.
If you give the wrong answer, you will be beheaded."

When the blindfolds were removed, one man looked at the others and saw
that the others were wearing a blue
hat each. None of them spoke and they looked just as confused as he was.
Finally, after a long time he put
his hand up and confidently said: "The colour of my hat is ..."

What was the colour of this man's hat? :-k :-k

Answer with reasoning plzz...

Its Blue...........

ok, break it down here...

MR A> sees two blue hats
MR B (blue hat)
MR C (blue hat)

the old guy said:- "may be two blues and one white or there may be three blue hats" mr A knows "one blue and two whites" is not true since he can see two blue hats. So its a toss up between all blue or 2 blues and one white. Mr A knows that if they are all wearing blue hats, Mr B & C would see two blue hats, thus there is a moment of confusion since B & C have no idea if they have a blue or white hat on, he can deduce therefore that he must be wearing a blue hat, because if he was wearing a white hat B & C (blue hats) would see one blue and one white hat and therefore deduce that he must have a blue hat otherwise the other person would have put his hand up as he would have seen two white hats, and he must therefore have a blue hat as there cannot be three white hats one must have a blue hat, this doesnt happpen therefore they all have blue hats

Hmm can't get a viable reason here!

Love lateral puzzles but can't get this

Every man can see at least one blue hat :tick:
One man an see 2 blue hats :tick:
There is a lot of confusion :tick:
Esp with me :tick:

Funny answer he had waited such a long time that he was beheaded and he could see the hat on the way down

But if the other guys could see one blue hat and one white what stops the other being white?

Would only work if they told each other what they could see

as we know ther can only be one white hat or no white hats

However say man2 looks up and seees a white hat and a blue hat, how does he know his isn't white?

Or have i missed the point?

Let’s call the person who saw that others have two blue hats, No1, and
let's call that two other people No2 and No3.

1-No1 saw that No2 and No3 both have a blue hats
2-assume No1 has a white hat,
3-So No2 would see that No1 has a white hat and No3 has a blue hat,
(Now he wants to find out what the colour of his hat is)
4-if his hat was white,
5-then No3 would see two white hats,
6-so he could answer the question very fast,
7-but he couldn't
8-so No2 from that No3 couldn't answer will relize that his hat is blue
9-so he would be able to answer,
10-but No1 saw that two people couldn't answer for a long time,
11-so his hat is blue!
