Hi,

I have got a stainless catback system on my zr, and although it sounds sweet with the occaisonal backfire.... its simply not loud enough!

What can i do to make it sound better? Thers the option of a de-cat pipe, or a sports cat (can be pricey), or is there anything else i can do to it?

Drilling holes does this work? lmao

SPORTS CAT /DECAT AND JANSPEED MANIF9OLD

if u buy the sports cat/de cat then u have to get the sports cat as its not compatiable with the standard cat and if u have a 160 the de cat losses power just stick with sports cat its expensive but then u dont need to change at mot

yes thats very true, but iv heard of these decat pipes that are simply 'bolt on/bolt off'??

so there my only options?

you can get some one to de-cat the standard manifold but it wont give any gains in power or sound imo

just go for a full janspeed system mate i have it and its awesome

would it not? i presumes if u decatted it as it was would still be very loud? and im not after performance jus dont wanna loose it lol

removing the paper in the de cat i don think will give u any sound, may do but i dont think so

it may also set your engine managment light on and may fail mot to excess emissions, again why its safer to get a sports cat

i mean replace the cat with a straight pipe... yes thats very true indeed i wish i had more money lol

there is a cat in the manifold mate aswell you could get a de cat between 2nd cat and inter pipe that would give a bit more sound yes

what cat back system do you have?

oryt i thought there was only one cat lol, erm im not too sure only jus had it fitted was from powerflow its a stainless somat lol
