I'd heard that the rear disc conversion is not as easy as it first appears...

The durms are pretty effective and less prone to brake fade, (a different) Steve still has them on his KV6 200 and that stops pretty well!

I'd be inclined to agree with Steve220, and do the fronts!

Rear brake swap

If you are thinking about changing the rear beam don't go for a 200Vi one if you can help it - the beam itself isn't as stiff as the 25/ZR so the car wouldn't handle quite so well. Believe this is the reason 200s had a rear anti-roll bar and ZRs don't.

Rear disc conversion

Sorry, didn't make that very clear - what I meant was the ZR/25 actual torsion bar is alot stiffer than the 200s, which is why MG R didn't fit a rear anti roll bar to the 160 and TDs where equivalent 200 models had them . Fitting a 200 rear beam with discs would be a retrograde step handling wise. (But I've no idea by how much!)
