IM PUZZLED.......................

i was looking at the specs fo rthe ZS on the MG website and i cant quite work this out..

both the 1.8 16v option and the 2.5 KV6 option are listed as 117ps although one has slightly more torque than the other???????????????

how can this be right, surely the 2.5 should be a fair bit more in terms of BHP / PS???????

can anyone shed some light

The ps figures are to keep those tree huggers in Brussles happy so they seem as if a car is less powerful. The KV6 puts out up to 190bhp depending on the state of tune, ie in the ZT it has 190 at the flywheel while the ZS has only 180bhp. Similarly with the 1.8 the ZR and ZS come in both 120bhp and 160bhp versions, however that is with the addition of a VVC unit to get the 40bhp power hike.

To be honest the MG rover website is wrong. Check the engines out athttp://www.austin-rover.co.uk/index.htm?enginekseriesf.htm[url/]
