If its just the mast - it only screws onto the base and is literally a 30 second job. (and that includes undoing the packet and puttin the old aerial in the bin)

Very easy to do yerself.

If the base is knackered then they will have to drop the headlining down to get at and change the base. That IS a bit more involved.

You really need to check just what it is that actually needs changing mate.

Kitchen towel or some such absorbant material should do the trick. TBH WD40 shouldnt do any harm to the paint anyway as it is only a light machine oil suspended in white spirit.
