So a month ago I brought a set of brand new Auto art clear/ red rear lights direct from them for around £85.

At first the sent me two sets by mistake, The moment I received the second set I sent them a email straight away telling them there mistake and that I was happy to send them back to them. They got the lights picked up by DPD the next day and sent back to them.

About 2 weeks ago the right hand side started steaming up really badly with leads of beads of water running down the inside, So I sent them a email asking for some advice on what I could do to fix it. Not asking for a refund or replacement, Just some advice.

Got a reply a few days later asking to send some photos, sent some over but for some reason they couldn't view them. So sent them another email last night with the links to the photos.

Now I might be ravening on a bit here but reading the email they sent me, It just seams like a computer wrote it and all they done is covered there own backs... Not a care in the world about the problem.

They also quoted all the lights have a sticker on them explaining some may "leak" and if the do don't fit and return them. Mine dint have anything, They were just chucked in a brown box with a bit of bubble wrap in the middle.....

Here's the email, I just want to here some peoples views before I reply:

Hello,

Our technical department have viewed the images supplied & have said that the lights in the images do not appear to be leaking. The moisture forming on the lens is condensation. For a complete explanation on why condensation and or misting may occur in your lights, please view our fitment & troubleshooting guides. These guides will also advise how you can ensure that the lights are set up correctly & therefore aid their design to clear the condensation as soon as possible:

http://autoartltd.co.uk/technical-tips.php

Our headlights & tail lights are supplied with a sticker which reads:

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ BEFORE FITTING:
Condensation or misting may occur inside this light unit from time to time. This is due to moisture in the air, and not due to any leak or fault with the lights. It will clear as the moisture evaporates, but may take some time, particularly in cold, wet weather. Condensation will not be accepted as a valid reason for a warranty return. If this is not acceptable to you, please do not fit the lights, but return instead to your dealer for a refund.

There is a test you can do to check that the bond between the lens & housing is complete & water tight. Fill a bath, sink, container etc with enough water in order to submerge the lens of the lights. Remove the wiring from the lights & then (lens face down) submerge the lights in the water so that only the lens is submerged. If there is a fault with the seal, then water will enter the light where the seal is incomplete. You will see bubbles appear where any water enters the lights.

Usually, if a light is leaking, water will pool at the bottom of a light. So much so that you will very quickly, you have a inch or two of water sloshing around in the bottom of a light.

Heres the light:

I guess I'll have to send off for a new log book and just wait 'til it arrives - will going into the local DVLA office speed up this process at all?

Doing it online requires a code from the log book doesn't it?

Thanks.
