There is already one. If you have a notification the "Private Message" under your name Turns into "1 Notification" or 2 or 3 how ever many you have....if your popular lol

I don't know if it's possible but just a simple one e.g "someone's posted in your thread" or reply posted

This already exists, there's a section when you create a new thread or reply called Thread Subscription, from there there is a drop down to select the notification type.
