mg zr turbo

right guys so today i swapped my black mk2 1.4 for a white mk2 zr with a 620ti engine in it has a few things wrong i.e needs a new gear selector, and there is quite a lot of lag. what could be causing this it takes a good 2-3 seconds for the boost to kick what things should i look at doing to sort it?

When is the lag? What gear/speed are you suffering the lag? What you have to remember is the engine/turbo design on the engine is 16/17 years old so there will be some lag at low rpm. Full boost on my Coupe Turbo desn't really hit til around 2500-3000 rpm.

Generally check for boost leaks around your hoses from Turbo to Intercooler then to the Throttle Body as a matter of course

find with a bigger turbo it takes longer for it to spool up so you get less low down power more power higher up
